Amy is a computer assisted voice recording not a person. Starts out "Hello.... Can you hear me?" I recognized this part from the same call a few days earlier.
Amy goes on to say she found my resume and knows I am looking for a job and she is from the career development department of some place I've never heard of and she can help me further my education or some bullshit.

I received a call from "Amy" about 10 min ago. She asked if I was interested in possibly reducing my auto insurance rates. I have been searching lately about switching insurance providers online and thought she might have been one of the companies I had checked with. She asked for my zip code and them promptly hung up as I was about to give it to her. Of course she didn't identify which company she was with, which obviously a red flag.

Called my work looking for a woman, said it was not an attempt to collect a debt but rather involved two legal matters and that the woman had 20 minutes to respond to the call. No details on what would happen if the woman didn't call in 20 minutes.
I am guessing this is a debt collection agency that has purchased up old traffic and parking tickets and is now calling up people and threatening them with jail if they don't pay up.
These folks are scumbags since they are lying to people claiming its not about a debt. It is a debt. You are a collection agency, you just happen to be working for the state to enforce a debt. You are not the state and you can't put anyone in jail.

After listening to the recording, Roger decided he wanted to continue with his agreed payment arrangement. This account has been closed, and A paid in full letter has been sent. The recording verified that Roger authorized payment and that nothing about jail was ever mentioned. Roger also agreed to the rtecording and was given the opportunity to hang up if he had chosen to not be recorded. Amy's still at it. Of course I never called them, my mortgage has been paid in full for over ten years.
Sure wish the FCC would get involved with this kind of thing...

threatened if did not pay would put in jail, that i was a co owner of a certain bill, unknown to me, that they would put the other person in jail unless i paid. i paid, but tried to undo it tonite. do not know if i did get it undone. otherwise they get almost 2000 dollars.

I got a prerecorded message from "Amy" acting as though I had called them about a loan modification, which I didn't, so I looked into it. They are a document preparation company named "HelpYouSave" posing as loan modification specialists promising unrealistic results with a loan modification. They charge you a fee "based on your morgage payment" - half of which is required before they start paperwork. (My fee was $1000) They offer the advice to skip your next mortgage payment and pay them instead. These are signs of a scam! You should not be paying for a loan modification, your lender will work with you for free - or you can contact a non-profit credit counseling agency who will help you prepare these documents for FREE. Don't borrow trouble!

Caller claims to be from US Healthcare regarding a prescription I have. When told that I dont have a prescription for whatever it was, they ask if I am taking any medications. These people call all day long! Sometimes the number is all zeros, and I think it was a 404 area code number at some time. How on earth do you get rid of them???????
