I received a phone call from Steve saying that I was approved for a loan of $1000. He told me I needed to go get a money pak and load $91 to insure that I will be able to make the monthly payments and the money will be deposited into my account within 30 minutes. I called back and they said they tried to transfer the money into my account 3 three times and it wouldn't work. So they asked me to go get another money pak and load $170 for them to send through western union. Then I new it was a scam!

An Indian guy I could barely understand but said his name was "Steve" (yeah right) called and was saying my computer was sending messages that there was a problem with windows. He wanted me to follow his prompts so he could fix the problem for me. I hung up on him after telling him I couldn't understand a word he was saying.

Bottom feeder bill collector. His messages usually include a threat to come to your home. Standard zombie debt collector, do not return his calls. He doesn't include a real name or business name. He makes a wonderful attempt to sound "official". Only seems to try to collect debts deemed unclollectable by the statute of limitations (at least here in Florida).

The caller, Steve, is calling from Phonix, Az, offerring alarm services monitored by Guardian, using a local number. You will not be able to redial the number and when I asked to be added to the do not call list the rep. became upset that I let him deliver his marketing pitch for almost 8 minutes without any interuption. Take up their time, then turn them down. There is no other way to get them to stop calling.

This is a spoofed caller ID generated by using a VOIP (voice over internet protocol) communications system. Since this is a phone system not liked to a land based telephone switch company (bell system, AT&T, etc) they simply program in any area code and number they want and that is what shows up on your caller ID. This practice is illegal in Indiana where I live. All of my phones are on the Federal and State no call lists, yet these scum bags continue. I have turned these numbers into the Attorney Generals office every time they call, But since it is a spoofed ID signal and they will not divulge who they are, the Attorney Generals office is powerless to do any thing.
I press 1 to get someone on the line, in the hope that I can get them to send me some information in writing to my PO box, if I can then we can take some legal action. So far they hang up when you ask for any information about them.

This guy calls every day of the week and says he wants to talk to my wife and he ask for her by her name and that he is calling about her Discover card. She has gotten a new Discover card and there is no charge on it so he's not a debt collector. He will not tell me why he's calling my wife.
Is there any law enforcement agency who can stopped this type of harrassment.

Manager's name was "Steve"
They called asking to speak to a Mr. or Mrs. ... I didn't get the name of the first man. In a thick East-Indian accent, he tried to explain that I had dropped a "coupon" (later a ballot) at a WalMart or other such store and it had my address.
Informed me that I had won one of five prizes:

Bedroom/Dining room set

3 Day Vacation
Attempted to confirm the details on the ballot, which I subtly avoided by asking my own questions. This got me passed to the manager, Steve, well-spoken compared to his counterpart with what sounded like an East-Indian accent disguised by a fake North American accent.
Steve tried to give me a password/code to come by to retrieve my prize at select times during the day. Offered me two times for today, Friday or Saturday. Emphasized that this was not a time share and I was not required to purchase anything. However, Steve indicated that there was something like a time share offer there if I wanted to view it.
Steve offered me the two dates and added a Saturday possibility too, but I told him I wasn't available for those dates and I would like his phone number to call him back when I had a day or two free. I really just wanted his phone number to look him and his company up. He hung up.
