Just one of many numbers where this is coming from! Look below for more. No matter where they call from they all have an accent, none will provide you with a mailing address or send you a bill in the mail with all the collectors info & they all give the same threats: They are an attorney, they work for a law firm, they work for the FBI, A lawsuit will be filled against your social security number, you will be under investigation for committing a federal crime, agents are on their way to your home/job to arrest you, you will go to jail, you will lose your job, do NOT ignore this call, you must settle this today or else. And the last two added "if you don't respond then may God help you", which I thought was an extra sickening little touch on their part.

I called the Attorney Generals Office & my local FBI branch & this is what they asked I do:

1. Ask them to provide me with an address to where I can write and confirm the debt information. Legally they MUST provide it. If they don't it's a scam.

2. Call & put a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. They will ask for your information, the situation and what numbers they are calling from or asking you to call. I was glad I had all my info ready because they answered quite quickly. The only thing they asked me to do was ignore the calls & provided me with a reference # for my complaint.
