The callers on all 6 calls have been non-native English speakers, probably Indian, Philipino, Pakistani, and a Spanish-speaking country. They are virtually unintelligible and when asked if they could transfer me to a native-English speaker, they say something in their own language (possibly cursing me) and hang up.
What I have been able to ascertain is that they are calling to advise me of being specially selected to receive a grant from the U.S. government that I never have to pay back. Definitely a scam!
