These people are scamming heavily in 2014. Hitting really hard this March of 2014 especially. What do they do? They say that you are being sued, and want your address and money to serve you papers, or that you owe them tax money, or you had an account with their medical supplies company some years back and never paid.. So you need to set up a payment plan or face collections, Or you owe them money for a weight loss product and you need to pay or it will go to collections, OR... And the list over the different scams they are running goes on. I have been investigating these people for a while, and can say with total confidence that they are RAPIDLY scamming people of their hard earned money. First off, do not be scared if they call you. Even if it is repeatedly. Because the only reason that they even call people, is because they want your information. Because, simply said, until they have your information, they cannot steal a single penny from you. So just ignore these calls. If, however, you have fallen for one if their scams, stay calm(easier said than done.. Right?) stop payments at the bank. And if you need to, close your account and reopen it with a new account number(my mother had to do that to escape paying a bogus car warranty scam). If they got your Social Security number, try and freeze your credit. So nothing can be applied for and opened with it.. Even if you feel like they can't get a credit card with your credit because you have bad credit.. It can still be done(like secured cards, loans, and such) , and they can open utilities.. Etc.. A lot of scammers these days sell Social Security Numbers on a black market online, for people to work illegally and to file taxes, and sometimes people even get arrested with other people's info.. Freezing your credit only stops people from applying for credit, though. They really need to update the system.. But let's hope that this does not happen to you. Good luck to all! Avoid these guys ;)
