A pitiful man just called from 978-587-0598—identified on caller ID as Peabody, MA. I received a call from the same number yesterday and it was sourced as Rajasthan. I pointed our the confusion in location to my caller, who announced, "I'm an American. I was born in Orange County." "But where you calling from? Rajasthan?" "No, I'm calling from Tennessee."
"Are you calling on behalf of Kinder Morgan?" "No, I don't know what Kinder Morgan is." "But you're familiar with their name?" "No" "Are you calling from Tennessee Gas Pipeline Company?" "No, I am not." "Well, what are you calling for?" "I'm calling you to ask for your support for the pipeline."
"Have you no conscience? Don't you know you're disrupting people's lives, their livelihoods, their land, the culture they're nurtured, the economic underpinnings of their very lives?" "No I was not aware of all that but I do have a conscience."
I have not personally received a call. This is a report from someone else.
