I received a recorded message (number 423-708-3396)re: file#/summons saying to call 941-251-8161. The woman would give me NO re: type of debt, amount, etc. I asked if this was regarding a payday loan. She insisted she needed my last 4 SS# before she could give me any info. I refused stating I have been a victim of scammers in the past who also said I owed a (non-existant) payday loan, AND that I did not know if this call was legitimate.I asked for a physical address so I could mail a written dispute to and request copies of the alleged loan application, etc. She transferred me to her supervisor, Mr. Jim/Jason Grange/Granger in "Summons" (?-not positive on his name).He talked over me when I asked for a physical address and kept repeating "by law" he couldn't give info until I gave my SS#. He abruptly hung up when I wouldn't comply. I CALLED BACK, and a different lady answered. I asked her for info and she gave lender's name and amount of my restitution as $650,incl. interest. She stated "original amount COULD HAVE BEEN $200 or $300". IF they were legit, wouldn't they know EXACT amounts? She confirmed the loan would've been deposited electronically. My bank has since verified no such transaction ever occurred.Your bank can do the same.
