This so called "Johnson Carter Associates" did essentially the same thing, as aforementioned post, indirectly to me today. They called my mother and my boss, claiming to be an attorney's office, and told them they were trying to contact me in regards to two accounts of check fraud. First off, I don't own checks nor write any. A collections agency, or an attorney's office working for one, would never give out "said" debtors information about the situation to a third-party. They informed both my mother and boss, that if I did not resolve this matter by 1pm today, they would have a warrant out for my arrest. Luckily, my father is an attorney himself and he called them on my behalf. Right after my father asked this "attorney" to provide his bar number, the person quickly hung up on him. Do not give these people more information of yours than they may already have, and you should definitely do not send them any money- it's a scam!
