I received the same letter. I called the toll free number and teh person that answered would only say law office. When I started inquiring about what the money was owed for the man wanted my information. I laughed, told him he got everything out me he was getting. He then tried to get rude. I laughed again. (laughing apparently pisses him off) I politely explained, I was contesting this debt, and that I had sent them a certified letter stating this and requesting more information. That letter has not been accepted and notice has been left, He told me that he had a new secretary and he would take care of that, and if I didn't pay this debt they were going to list it on my credit report. Again, I laughed and told hm to go ahead since the address on the letter they sent me was obviously a fake I could get the real address of the credit report to sue them for harrassment, pain and suffering, and anything else I could get in there for a Calfornia court to get me money for. He hung up on me and I haven't received anymore calls or letters. For those of you reading this. Be smart. I found several letter forms on line that state you are disputing the debt and you are requesting more information. If you send them anything, send it ceritfied mail with signature receipt. If they refuse the letter, or simply do not accept it, you have proof, and even if they do sue you it will be hard for them to get a dime out of you because you attempted to resolve the matter and they failed to act.
