OUR call from this SAME # - on a SATURDAY - was a different SCAM. Caller ID said "ALBANY, NY" which we are close to. Let it go to ans machine and a COMPLETELY **ILLEGAL** PRE-RECORDED msg claimed they were 'returning (y)OUR call' (FALSE) about a "medical device that was seen on TV and covered by your insurance."
They have been running commercials for back, knee, neck and other braces on CABLE TV, but we have made NO calls or inquiries of ANY kind about such. However, I HAVE noticed a DIRECT CORRELATION between these commercials and these UNWANTED phone calls.
Time for the GOVERNMENT to INVESTIGATE and **GO AFTER** CABLE TV providers who I STRONG believe PROVIDE their subscribers phone #s to their advertisers who in turn hire the ILLEGAL TELEMARKETING firms: FINE ALL the corporations involved and IMPRISON their CEOs!
Essentially this is a PHISHING SCAM for IDENTITY THEFT, CREDIT INFORMATION and MEDICARE/MEDICAID FRAUD designed to FURTHER ENRICH the already FILTHY RICH who are behind these schemes.
They have ALSO started running commercials from THE GOVERNMENT about guarding one's identity/personal info including MEDICAL INSURANCE NUMBERS and SS# and such from these TELESCAMMERS. AND they give websites & phone numbers with which to REPORT these schemes DIRECTLY TO the Soc Security/Medicare Administration. As soon as I can write those down, I'm going to start REPORTING THESE CALLS to them, as well as the FTC/FCC/DNC.
