8:50 AM AZ Time Caller and again at 10:03 AM. Statement is broken up with gaps in his recording. This is what the recording states: "Hi! This message is intended to contact you, my name is Steve Martin and I'm calling regarding an enforcement action executed by US Treasury intending your ... ignoring this will be an intentional second attempt for a warrant issued for your appear before a magistrate judge or a grand jury for a federal criminal offense. My number is.. I'd like you to cooperate with us and help us to help you!" Called back while I was typing this! Will not call back of course. Can't imagine what this is going to avail anyone. I don't think it is a "prank call" it is more of a "scam call" most likely to see what information they can get from whomever is naive enough to answer or return this call.

This person left a message on my phone, I called back on number 415-829-9429 and got an east indian man answering the Dept. of Legal Services, U.S. Treasury----I kept asking why they had called. He gave me a garbled answer ---he got mad--I kept calling back asking for the supervisor--same voice different name each time.

A person calling themselves Steve Martin has left 3! messages on my machine. He said:
“This is the second attempt to contact you. This is about an Enforcement Action from the Treasury Dept., and that if you do not contact them this will go to a Magistrate or a Grand Jury for a Federal Criminal Offense. I advise you to help us to help you. The contact number is 858-206-4546.”
(“Steve Martin” did not state my name or any other identifying information.)

I reported it (Via a FORM!) at the Treasury Inspector General Administration (http://www.treasury.gov/tigta/ on the internet) as Fraud. Apparently they get so many of these you actually fill out a specific form!
There was other information on their website that said the scammers called a lot during tax season, and that they were VERY AGGRESIVE and would say anything to get you to pay them. They said the Treasury Department would never ask for your identifying information and would never ask for money over the phone, and would always contact you by mail first. DO NOT CALL THEM BACK!
The 1-800 phone number at the Attorney General at (Financial Fraud Enforcement Task Force at www.stopfraud.gov .) said they were aware of the Treasury Impersonal Fraud (their mailbox was completely full from other complaints!

I called the number back. "Eric Johnson" answered, said he represented the "U.S. Treasury". I said, "Really, well ... I want your badge number." There's this silence, then, "Badge number?" I said, "Yes, your badge number; all U.S. Treasury agents carry a badge; I want your badge number." His response, "F U". I said, "Really! So, you are admitting that you are a scammer; you have called my home repeatedly; you call here again I will report you to the appropriate authorities." Then I hung up. This was after the third call in 1.5 hours from these yo-yo's!

Supposedly I owe the government taxes, this is 2nd notice, and will be called before a grand jury if I don't contact them about paying. What BS!! I've contacted state attorney general's office, as well as US Treasury to pass this along.
This is total BS, as it would all be done by letter initially, followed up by local agents, not some yahoo from Buffalo, NY, and I hope to get this set of dirt balls in big trouble for their efforts.

This call came from Santa Cruz, CA, but showed up on caller ID as OK. "Steve" had a very thick Indian accent and said that he was placing an "enforcement action" against my husband, and sending "Treasuary Agents" after him. The IRS does not call you, they snail-mail you. My husband hung up on him. One hour later, they robo-called back, saying this was their second attempt since he didn't respond.
