The Indian sounding caller asked for Mr Reed which is the name against my number, in last years BT directory. I have opted out of sales calls under the telephone preference scheme.
I said 'they no longer live at this address' but the caller was persistent and went on to ask if I was the householder as it was me they wanted to speak to. Why? I never found out suspecting some kind of scam I hung up.
However it proves they are trawling BT telephone directories or a directory CD-Rom for numbers.

This scum called my house at 4.02 am and woke everyone up. When you get a call at that time of the morning, you always think the worst. All I got was a computerised "goodbye" after a few seconds. Never got back to sleep.
What kind of scum does this ?
