I received a voicemail but not a missed call from this number and an automated voice informed me that "IRS is filing lawsuit against you." I call the number back to hear a very heavy non-american accent tell me his name was Shawn Wilson... I asked him if he was sure that he was in fact the IRS since reverse lookup says otherwise. He hung up on me. I called back rather humored to try again. I got the same guy who attempted to get my information. I told him I was returning a call and he should look up my information with the number I called from. He hung up on me again. 99.9% sure this was a scammer (.01 for bored teenagers) but am not convinced in the slightest that it's the IRS coming after my flawless tax practices. (FYI if you've read this before it's because I am going to every sight I can find to post this!)

Note: I received the same call as the original receipient...Lenny. It seems the call is coming from the District of Columbia, but so far not able to located the legal owner of the call. I basically had the same response from questions as did Lenny....

got the message and i called them back. dude who answered had a hard time speaking english. i asked his name and he gave Officer Michael austin. asked for his address and telephone number, he gave it but asked why, i told him i was looking up the number online and then he hung up on me. called back many times and they would straight disconnect me or id get a busy signal. i also am 99.9% sure this is a Scam.

*SCAM*I received a voicemail but not a missed call from an automated voice informing me that "IRS is filing lawsuit against you."(the poor grammatical structure is part of the quote) I call the number left in the message to hear a very heavy non-american (not Hispanic, Japanese, French, Irish, Canadian, British, German, or Russian either) accent tell me his name was Shawn Wilson... I asked him if he was sure that he was in fact the IRS since reverse look-up says otherwise. He hung up on me. I called back rather humored to try again. I got the same guy who attempted to get my information. I told him I was returning a call and he should look up my information with the number I called from. I have reported this to the IRS as well. (FYI if you've read this before it's because I am going to every site I can find to post this! *Added a list of other accents I'm quite familiar with that I know his was not.)
