This person called from 203-485-2086 with lots of sales-call noise in the background, asked if this was "{my first & last name}?" I said, yes, to which there was silence. I said, "Hello?" and the scene repeated itself, and the person (heavily accented) said, "Please hold." (Um... you called me!) At this point I knew it was a sales-ish call.
I finally asked again, 'How may I help you?' and the person replied, "This is the IRS." I quickly responded, "No, it's not" -- to which the person said, "Oh, ok. Thank you. Goodbye." :D
