The scammers called me three times. I can see that they are scammers from the start. The IRS sends letters to audit you, to assess additional taxes owed, and would never make such a phone call about filing a lawsuit. The IRS has powers to collect taxes such as garnishment of wages and filing liens on properties. If a taxpayer has few resources, he or she can file an offer in compromise with the IRS. It does not need to file lawsuits to collect taxes. It's a funny scam to me.
