BEWARE! There must be a phone scam going around. The man on the phone pretended to be an officer of the law collecting for the families of fellow fallen officers. They've been calling on the hour every day for a few days straight so I finally answered. The first thing they tell you is that the call is recorded for "quality assurance." They're very pushy and demand you commit to $50 or more so they can then send you literature and a "thank you" note. I refused, so he kept going down by increments of $5. I told him I don't give money over the phone. He said I didn't have to, he just needed a commitment to my pledge, but I refused, knowing if I said yes to any figure, even $5, I would be bound to it by the recorded call. I told him to quit trying to scam people and hung up. The call comes up as "Unknown name" 407-706-4701. A-holes taking advantage of poor families who are victims of tragedies, it just makes you sick.
