Received a call from a thickly accented "Jordan Miller" who said he was from the Dept. of Legal Affairs & calling about an "enforcement action that has been started in your name". If I'm too busy to call back, my retained attorney can call instead & there will be a legal mess for me if I delay. He ended the call the same way a few others have reported, "have a blessed day, goodbye". The number he gave was (415)935-7074, I didn't call it because I wanted to research the department online first & find out what kinds of legal affairs they manage, since I'm currently not dealing with any serious troubles. I found no official websites, only more like this one warning of scams & fraud so, needless to say, I won't be calling Jordan Miller back!

A supposed Roy Bennett (with an accent and broken english) called twice today and left a message about a "Verbal Notice" of "Encroachment Action" and to call (415) 935-7074 before legal action was taken. I had my suspicions. When I called back, it rang for a bit and then gave a busy signal. Then shortly after, I received a call back from that number saying law enforcement actions were being taken against me for taxes that were not filed listing 3 counts against me. Odd...I file my taxes and usually get refunds rather than owe money. The phone connection was full of static and he cut in and out often. I told him I thought it was a scam because he was calling me about notices in the mail that I had not received and not using my full name or referencing my husband since we file jointly. He hung up on me. Yep...a scam. Be careful folks.
