Over the years, the FOP scam's been quite lucrative to con artists. I don't answer unknown callers, but I've been told that if you do, you should cut off their spiel and ask what percentage of the take actually REACHES police departments. Apparently, some will actually tell you and the percentage is contemptibly low. Most is pocketed by the con artists for "administrative expenses."

- Reported that they are a professional fundraiser company by the name of Outreach Calling Inc out of Reno NV that rakes majority of donations off the top with little going th the charity.
