This person was a telemarketer trying to solicit more money in my monthly donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital. All my warning flags went up about it being a scam and here's why:
1) I've been a donor to this charity for more than 8 years. They never once called and asked for money.
2) The caller ID, although it can be forged, should have said "St. Jude" at a minimum. Instead the caller ID displayed the name of the town next to where I live and the phone number above).
3) I slammed the person saying that this was an all out scam and I am a security expert and this has stink all over it. She replied "Well I am a Charity Representative expert and I assure you this is not a hoax." I insisted it was.
4) She then said "what can I do to get you to increase your monthly donations?" I replied, "you aren't getting a dime from me and I will continue to donate to this charity through the only means that I know are legit." She insisted again and that's when I said, "you aren't even thanking me for what I've donated and you're an expert? Hang up the phone. You're wasting everyone's time."
I instantly hung up the phone and then googled for St Jude Children's Hospital telemarketing
