I also received a call today from the "IRS" claiming they had a lawsuit against me. The number that showed on my phone when they called was 6261410360001017092 (Indonesia). They left a message that said I was to call 585-492-8479 to resolve this matter. I knew right away when I saw the incoming number it was probably a scam. The IRS does NOT contact people on the phone. They send out registered letters.

I had a message to callthe IRS from 515-492-8479 to inform me that the IRS filing a lawsuit against me and I was instructed to call them back. I called back and someone with a "New Deli" accent answered. He asked me if I knew the reason for his call and I said NO, he then said that he needed to ask me some questions and I should not interrupt him until he was done. He verified my name, phone # and address then asked my age and if I filed taxes jointly with my husband. I said he should have this information already if he is with the IRS. He then said that he had the wrong number and hung up. This is not the firs time I have had a call from someone claiming to be with the IRS....IS THERE NO WAY TO STOP THESE FRAUDULENT PEOPLE???
