It's not the Michigan GOP, and they've assigned somebody to handling complaints about it - you can reach her at the contact number on the MI GOP's website. They give out Strategic Nationals number. I finally reached a real person at SNI, who spent some time talking to me about it - lot's more than you'd expect if they were behind it. They are a small political polling company, but they say they don't know who it is, either. The woman I spoke with was very apologetic.

For the conspiracy minded you could build a case it's somebody trying to smear the republicans (see the "Republican" comment), but about all I can discover is whoever's really behind it is too cowardly to admit who they are.

This number of 616-827-7054 shows as a "Public Survey" on the caller ID. They have been calling me 2 or 3 times everyday. When I answer there is never anyone there - just clicks and noises and then it disconnects. I did the star 69 to get the phone number and called them back to ask them to please stop calling me but I only get a recording that "this number does not accept calls". I am already registered on the donotcall registry but I registered again today in case my old "do not call" has expired. I want these calls to stop. I think the name of "Public Survey" is a fake name anyway. Regardless, I do not want to take any survey. I am not afiliated with any political organization. I consider these calls to be a harrassment. I went to the DoNotCall.gov and registered a complaint today. I urge others to take two moments and do the same. Thank you.

This number has been traced to a Political Consulting firm in Grand Rapids by the Michigan GOP call Strategic National. According to my phone company they are violating FCC rules by not giving you a way to ask them to stop. Their number is 616-301-3100 - I call them every time they call me and leave them a message to stop!

Robo-call on Memorial Day. No chance to ask them to stop calling, no answer on callback. Wanted to know which gubernatorial candidate I'd vote for. How about if you give me your home phone number, as I've got a string of stupid questions for you, too.
