Just got a call today stating that I'm being investigated by the IRS for tax evasion. Message was taken, and the name given by the caller was Officer Daniel Smith, Badge number 8947, ext 799. I knew it was a scam, because I was audited about 10 years ago (which was crazy cause the only thing I had on my taxes that year was one W-2), and I never once got a phone call from the IRS. Called law enforcement and reported it, and what's even crazier is that the sheriff's department has multiple reports on this, and the town I live in is so small, we don't even have a red light!
