Is this a scam? I was offered a job as well. Looked up company on internet. I guess anyone can make a nice "set" to photo. Legal or Not ????

I was offered a job on May 17. All seemed to be well until they wanted my credit card number to deposit money into. I told them I didn't have one to use and she hung up and has failed to answer any calls or reply to emails.
The papers sent are fakes and the company was said to be based in Zurich, Switzerland. There is no such company in Zurich by such name.
