I have received multiple automated phone calls from CRI attempting to collect a debt from an individual I do not know. This message is left on my voice mail:
"Hello. I am calling about important personal business. Please call me back as soon as possible at the following number: 706-736-6746. Again my number is 706-736-6746. Thank you. Goodbye."
The identification on the caller ID appears as "unknown" or "No Caller ID", but the voice mail and the automated voice when I do pick up reveal that this is CRI. On the occasions I do pick up the phone, there is a series of menu options that ask me if I’m a certain individual. I indicate I am not this person through the automated menu. Additionally, when asked by the automated voice if the contact information is incorrect, I push the appropriate number to indicate that the contact information is incorrect. I have done this three to four times, but continue to receive calls from CRI.
I have submitted complaints to the Better Business Bureau of Central Georgia, the Federal Trade Commission, and the federal Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
I encourage anyone receiving similar harassing calls from this collection agency to submit complaints to the above organizations.
