Very important that people know these are scammers. When is the last time you met an Indian person with the name John or James Smith. I use to work in collections and I'm very familiar with the FDCPA. Note some things here to let you know when you're dealing with idiot scam artists.
#1 - Mini Miranda - this is an attempt to collect a debt. Any information obtained will be used for that purpose. These Indian people never say this. And its REQUIRED!!!
#2 - They do not provide any info. Per the FDCPA you have 30 days after first contact to dispute the debt by which they are required to send you verification. These fools told me they would send the papers AFTER I make the payment.
#3 - Do you have an 800 number? Answer: no. What call center or collection agency do you know that doesn't have a 800 number?
#4 - Noise in the background. What attorney's office do you know of that has that much fuss in the background.

Be careful. Do not give these people any information on you.

These are the same middle-eastern scam artists that have been all over the news and on 800notes.com

They claim you owe money to a company you have never heard of, refuse to send any documentation, yell and use a lot of profanity, threaten you with bodily harm and/or imprisonment if you don't meet their extortion demands, AND if you are female will describe in detail on how they will sexually assualt you until you are "dead".

Complete scam artists operating outside of the U.S. so that nothing can be done to stop them from calling.
