Received a call from 760-230-8767 and heard a pre-recorded message for Senior Alert Systems followed by an offer to PRESS 1 for more information. I did a Goggle Search of the phone number and found so many complaints that I decided to hunt down the Service Provider for that phone number. It is ported out through Cox California Telecom: Customer Service/Billing – North (760) 599-6060 Mon-Fri 8am - 8pm / Sat 8am - 5pm, Se Habra Española. I called them and I had to press several numbers to go through a maze of different services (mainly pressing 3) but I got to a live person in Customer Service who agreed to place the offending caller on an investigation. The Representative of Cox California Telecom also stated that they hope other people who have received these solicitation calls to please report them to COX so that action can be taken to (and I quote) “Take Them Down”. So if you are getting calls and they do NOT stop, look up who is providing the telephone service for that number that is calling you and try complaining to the Service Provider. It may be worth your effort.

I got a call from this number. It started with a recorded message about one of those "I've fallen and I can't get up" type services. The only response option given was press 1 for information (nothing for "don't call me again"). I pressed one and when the guy answered, I told him my number was on the federal do not call list and I wanted to make sure they didn't call again or I'd report him. He hung up on me without saying anything. I suspect he may be running some sort of scam for the elderly since any responsible business doing telemarketing would have apologized and advised that they'd remove my number from the list. I did try calling the number on the caller ID to find out the name of the business for the report to the do not call registry, but got a message simply saying no one was in the office to take the call and to try back later.
