I got the same call from Eric Foster. He said he was from the IRS internal revenue and said his name was officer Eric Foster and the number to his division was 8064143052. He almost sounded like Kermit the frog. And he didn't even specify who the message was for. He just said "you". Weird.

I just received a scam call from this number where a recording of a male with a thick accent alleging to be Officer Paul Tanner told me he was with the IRS and that I was in trouble and needed to return the call to him or have my attorney return the call. I am confident that this is a scam, so do not give this man any personal information. I filed a scam report with the IRS. Please do so too if you received the same scam call. The IRS website has the following hotline: If you know you don’t owe taxes or have no reason to think that you owe any taxes (for example, you’ve never received a bill or the caller made some bogus threats as described above), then call and report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 1.800.366.4484
