What "Alexandra" posted is NOT TRUE! Calling that 866 number to get your number removed from the call list is just ANOTHER SCAM! It verifies your number is real. Don't fall for it!!

The comment from Buster PhishingScam prompt me to call and speak to a person at 866-246-7196 because I really wanted their help to stop the telemarketing calls I was getting but I wanted to confirm in fact that was what they would do. They explained they provide this do not call request service to a small number of companies that call consumers that want to minimize complaints and save time not calling people who don't want to be called. It sounded reasonable so I gave them the caller's phone number which they verified to be on their list. Then I gave her the receiving phone number which they added it to the do not call list. As stated, after 2 business days the calls did stop. I wish people would not speculate in their comments but instead try to be helpful to others.
