The same thing happened to my wife and she was actually letting them control our desktop computer when she decided to ask me to talk to them. I asked them what they were doing and they said they worked for windows had noticed malware on our computer and were going to remove it for Microsoft. I told them to back the (&%$#) out of our computer as I disconnected it from the internet. I went back in and unchecked all the remote access points and removed the "remote program" they had installed. I ran Spybot, Registry First Aid, removed all the trash and registry errors, immunized the entire computer, restored it to an earlier date and turned her AVG back on. I e-mailed everyone from my laptop, apologized, told them (877-228-1097) was a Major Scam and our desktop was Hacked with their e-mail addresses stored on our computer. I changed all our passwords from my laptop and will run all the malware programs again before going back online.
