I received 4 calls in 30 minutes on 7-June-2016 around 7:30 pm. On my home line.
And the same night all of our work phones received this message.
There was a recorded message was about emergency notification. If you answer you get are asked to press keys to acknowledge.
If your voice mail picks up you are instructed to call 888-836-6971 and enter a long numeric code.
The caller ID indicated [703-378-4626 Jocelyn Smith]
It may be a spoofed ID because a Jocelyn Smith has a real address in Fairfax, VA ( townhouse off US-50 east of VA-28 ).
The Exchange for 703-378 is controlled out of the Braddock station serviced by either Verizon.
According to other Internet searches people as far west as Colorado are receiving these calls.
Reports of this call have been going on for a while. I would expect Verizon could pull the call data records and find out who pays for that line, and shut it down.
