Said she was from "Rogers Bell Canada" with call display falsely showing a random innocent's phone number from a major Canadian city (so you think the call is indeed coming from within Canada, rather than an Indian call center). She was calling about our broadband speed.
LOOK OUT FOLKS - this is the new twist on the technical support scam in which they ask you to install a program on your computer that allows them to "fix" your Windows problems.
This time they say they can speed up your internet. They will ask you to install a speed test program ... this gives them remote access to your system and then they pull the same hostage scan on your PC requiring you to provide your credit card info.
