The call came multiple times with threats of being arrested or having my assests frozen if I didn't pay them. They claimed to be an auditing branch of the IRS. I have reported this to the IRS as well.

Pretty clever scam -- don't help them improve their scam. Sooner or later they will get the wrong people alarmed, who may like to take the trouble to either absorb their enterprise or cause bodily damage.

I got a call from this woman with a heavy accent, who asked for me by name. I could tell immediately this was a scam by the way she spoke, and they fact that she did not reference a case ID, or my SS number. SO, she told me I haven't paid my taxes since 2005, (all current) and that I owed to 2012. That I had to pay her. I told her there was no way that this was the IRS, and she got very angry. After she yelled, I told her to send me a BILL, an we would address it appropriately. She continued, and I told her again to submit the bill in writing. I hung up after about 5 minutes of this. It is a scam folks. The IRS does not call you to ask for money. They send written notification, and audit you, and that process is very formal. This person is barely able to speak english, and she is committing a federal crime.
