Received a call from 929-251-8306.
Caller ID read 24X7PCHealth.
Caller insisted that my computer was sending error messages and we had to fix it before someone hacked me. I'm a computer engineer and I own a computer repair shop. Even if I wasn't in IT, I wouldn't trust a caller like this to care for my computer. You shouldn't either. No one legitimate will EVER proactively call you about your computer. Make sure you have a relationship with a local repair shop and have their number saved in your phone. NEVER let someone you didn't invite, into your computer.

I got the same call. He said windows had reported some critical errors and did a team viewer type thing and showed me the errors. Then asked me to buy a warranty plan between $180-200. And then proceeded to harrrasse me even after I told him I was broke. He even stated that someone would be monitoring my and calling me every week to touch base and update everything. When I said I was broke, he kept asking me if my husband could lend the money or one of my other family members. Even seemed to like the idea that I didn't have a husband..(creeeeepy)
So yea, don't let these idiots fool you. They are probably watching you right now! I unplugged mine from the internet.

Indian guy said that did I know that windows wasn't updating. I asked for HIS social security number and he gave me an id number (fake!). I played along and asked him how he knew there was something wrong with my computer. He said it wasn't updating. I said that is funny because I don't have a windows computer.

Caller told me there was something wrong with my computer and it was sending wrong information... If Ic could sit down behind my computer to let him in via computer to computer link... I advised Mr. "Smith" that we only had Mac computers and no PC's in this house. He hung up promptly.

This guy knew my full name and address and claims his company was monitoring my computer and that it reported there were errors coming from my computer. Obviously, I know better. He kept saying that because my computer was linked with a Windows Server?? Anyhow, after playing along with the guy for a few minutes and giving him a hard time (he had an Indian accent) I asked him if his company had a website and that was when he hung up on me.

You need to have a technician go through it. If they can't extort money from you , they most likely have left a keylogger or back door on your PC. They will either use this later (identity theft, account fraud) or sell access to your computer on darknet. If you let them in to your PC, this is not an option. You MUST protect yourself and find a competent technician to clean your system.
