They called my home on 4/15 and left msg saying from dept of legal affairs and to call immediately regarding an important legal matter. I called and they said they were collecting a IRS debt. Had my address and phone number. Started asking for more info and I said I wasn't going to provide any additional info to them. Said they would settle for $2,000. I do owe back taxes but had worked out a deferment with the IRS due to being unemployed. They said they would transfer me to the department that could take my payment. I said this sounded like a scam and the guy said there would be someone at my door within 2 hours to arrest me and this was a non bondable arrest. I was freaking out until, thank God, I saw the posts regarding this on the internet. Thank goodness for sites like this!

Extortion attempt! Scam. Even used my Foster Son's name, claiming that a complaint against him would cause a legal mess for me if I did not contact them immediately, or have my auditing attorney call. How would they know my son's name? Creepy and Scary! It was an African accent in my opinion, not Indian. Indian scammers call all the time claiming to be from Windows or Microsoft Consumer Dept. When will it all end!
