I just had the same call, heavy thick accent, urgent tone, said my computer had notified them there was an infected file downloaded to my computer. It was not my phone, my sister's phone. I stay with her and my computer is here. He knew her name even! It freaked me out... I kept questioning him, how did he get this number, and how can he verify he really works in tech support contracted to Microsoft? I asked finally if he could give me his companies phone # so I could call them. He hung up.

Just called claiming to be a Microsoft technician that is watching my computer liscense # through a global circuit.....said I had just downloaded a virus that needed to be deleted. Caller asked me to enter "Eventvwr" after holding ctrl/windows/r. I hung up on him. Thick Indian/Asian accent, urgent tone.
