I am sure this is a scam. If they call again I will be filing a complaint and I think others should too. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.The fraudsters relentlessly call the victims home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims relatives, friends, and employers.

This company called all my relatives stating they were looking for me. I called this company and the girl stated BRG was a "Grantor" I asked what they were granting? She stated that she had to confirm who I was and "told me" the last 4 of my soc sec #. ( had she really wanted to verify who I was, she would have asked me for the last 4 not told them to me) she said she was collecting for an internet loan from 6-7 years ago. I stated I didn't know them! I don't know BRG! Send anything she had in writing. she stated she couldn't do that so I told her our conversation was being recorded and she was to stop calling immediately. That any and all correspondence from this point further will be in writing. She said "what ever you would like sir" I said Thank you and hung up. This is obviously a scam call and they try to scare you into playing their games. DON'T FALL FOR IT!!! Make them get a real job like we have.

there have been very misleading messages left on my answering machine for the last few days, being told that you have a claim against you, call in immediately. the most recent being today 6/23/15 saying that you have been previously notified and have failed to make contact, coming off almost threatening. however a person did call in the previous day to this # they would not give out a company name nor what this concerned they simply say you have a package that will be delivered when you give them your social security #. so they were asked not to call again.. that's when I get in from work the following day 6/23 to the threatening sounding message, that I was previously notified and have failed to call in, so I called in again and they told me they don't make calls from their office they have 3rd party, the guy was very rude, said he didn't believe the type messages id received and states they are not a collection agency. we will wait till tomorrow to see if they call again in which I will report them again. Im not even sure on the business name, when you call in the recording says BRG?!?! beware and DO NOT GIVE OUT SS# to anyone

Said they retained a locator service to find me. And that report was complete. I needed to call her back for some reason. If I had opened something or took a loan out they would have my address. Dumb idiots. They do not say who or what company they are from. All they said was BRG but they usually just say "The Firm". Ridiculous. Come get me....if it was legit, they would know it is illegal to leave threatening messages that someone is going to be arrested or come get a person.

BRG is Berkeley Research Group doing consumer surveys. Google showed a Houston location near me and I found one in Dallas although I believe they are in other states as well. I think they are likely robocalling. I did not answer.
