Received a call on my wife's phone today from Daymond John Launch Academy. We both had received invitations to their crappy event in separate mailers.
I had participated in some of their OPT INS so it wasn't a surprise to me, when I received the mailer. My wife's mailer, I became a little suspicious.
The FINAL STRAW was when I received two phone calls two days in a row from 310-728-2114, which, prior to today only showed up on the internet as some SHADY LOOKING LOCKSMITH COMPANY, or not. TURNS OUT, just a telemarketing call center. NOW TO BE MADE FAMOUS WITH THE BRANDING OF DAYMOND JOHN's (no such thing as bad publicity... you're welcome)
When I asked how they got this number, he told me it was just from a list they received from Daymond John's company.
I called Daymond John's Launch Academy 800-206-0429 to find out HOW THEY GOT THIS NUMBER ON THEIR LIST... to give them the benefit of the doubt.
On both calls, representatives of the company BOTH admitted that they "gather information from public sources"
I clarified that MY WIFE HADN'T GIVEN THEM A NUMBER TO CALL, and again, they BOTH admitted that they "gather information from public sources"
I clarified if they KNEW ABOUT THE Do Not Call List, and BOTH were well aware of it, but both defended their seeming RIGHT to call anyone in the phonebook that they wanted to, for whatever purpose... TAKE THAT LISTED CALLERS.
Ummmmm.... NO, that's NOT HOW IT WORKS. I'll show you.
Then both got snippy with me and wanted to hang up, but I continued to educate them on THE ERRORS OF THEIR WAYS, and gave one THIS phone number to google.
