Anyway, the claim is that there is a lean against your property filed by the IRS for $2800 in unpaid taxes for the past several years and you have two options -- they can provide you with a lawyer, or you can pay it back. It is pretty well scripted with them knowing my home address my name. All can be found on line. The operator even asked me if I intentionally withheld money on my taxes.
The furthest I got was -- I was instructed to buy government bonds as a means to pay what I owed. Then I was disconnected again.
The number is busy most of the times I tried to call. Sad because that means people are probably getting scammed for real.
