Today I rec'd a second call threatening me with IRS reprisal for tax evasion/fraud. The first message said I would need to have my attorney on hand when I called back because I was in a "lot of trouble". She was calling for my deceased husband, by name - I called back and when I told her my husband was deceased, she then wanted to know if we filed jointly at any point - (the IRS would know that). As soon as I challenged the caller with "It is my understanding that the IRS does not contact tax payers by phone over these issues" - she hung up.
The second call today indicated that I had been reported for tax evasion and fraud and before they issued a warrant for my arrest, I could call this phone # 571-281-8702. The caller identified himself as James Anderson (although I don't think he had any Scandinavian heritage - more of a Hispanic accent with poor English grammar). I did not call back this time.
