Received a message claiming the IRS if filing a lawsuit against me. Called the number back and a male with the name of Edward Burt answered with a casual "hello." No professional greeting or IRS tree call recording. Claimed to be IRS headquarters and proceeded to argue with me when I stated headquarters office is in Washington DC not Washington state.

These people just called me and that I was going to go to jail. They both had heavy Indian accents, and were very rude over the phone, once I started asking simple questions, i.e. who are you and why are you calling me. Darcy began to tell me that I was in major trouble and that I was being sued and going to jail tomorrow. I request to speak to your boss, and she said to call him at the same number that she was calling me from.
Total scam of some sort!

This person called me and told me I owe the IRS over $1,000 and I have to pay ASAP before it becomes a criminal matter and they send the sheriffs to my house.
I told them I was going to contact the IRS directly and they said only they have the information. They did not give me a case number, or a reason why I owe that amount.
