I received a letter from this operation from their Harrisburg Pa. office (they have a number of offices nationwide, including chicago, houston, dallas and denver that I have become aware of) dated 1/24/12 in regard to a tax lien
from the franchise tax board in my home state of california. There is in fact a tax lien on my account, but I would never really expect a government taxing agency to outsource their collections as collecting taxes is THEIR purpose for existance-to me it would be like a police department contracting with private security to protect their station- I mean, if the police can't even protect THIER OWN station, how are they supposed to protect an entire city? anyway, I personally visited my local franchise tax board to see if I could confirm that this was legitimate, and was told specifically that they had their own attorneys,
as I of course expected and that they have no knowledge of involvement of these people rgarding my file-trust me, it came as no surprise to find out that the letter was totally bogus- I suspect that what these people do is collect public records on people, and than pretend to be collecting a delinguent or defaulted debt on the original account holders behalf- many times the debt they claim to be collecting on never even existed- I would very much like to get together with other victims of this operation and see if we can't initiate a federal investigation and prosecution of these outlaws.
