I GOT A CALL FROM 512-541-2184 SAYING HIS NAME AS MIKE JOHN, A POLICE OFFICER TO COLLECT MONEY.
I DO NOT HAVE ANY BILLS OR PAST DUE AMOUNTS, THEN WHY I SHOULD GET A CALL. IT IS A SCAM.

some scam artist saying that this was a "recorded call" and was for a charity for "cops helping kids". Wasn't recorded though. I just hung up. total scam artist as they wouldn't be calling Los Angeles from some San Jose number.

My mother in law in Illinois got the same call regarding my 13 year old son.
I pray they get caught. Kinda creepy they find relatives in different countries.

My elderly Mom got a call from a Tyler James of the police dept stating he had her grandson in jail and needed $1800.00 bond for him to released. Preying on my Mom's good heart, the money was to be in cash and sent to a small town in Ecuador under her Grandsons name through a Money Gram. Well unfortunately, my Mom fell for the scam. I hope someone checks this number and reads this before they act on this ruthless scam. Investigations are underway to catch these creeps!!

When they call, they leave no message, but you call it back it places you on hold and then redirects your call (I know this because I work for an AMERICAN call center) and you are speaking with a thick Indian accented individual that's anwers the phone "police dept"
1. Police dept would not be how your local police dept would answer and they would not be connecting you to a call center or not leave a message if it was important. They would be at your door or would give you full details of their identity.
Beware of these auto dialing scammers, number says it's from Dana, IL but it also routes to UK. Just block the number if you can and report them to FTC
