I received a call from this number this morning just before 8:30 am. I was in my car and since it was (844) area code I screened the call but they left voice mail. Woman said that she was with San Mateo County Sheriff's office, that I had been charged with 2 felonies and that officers were on their way to my home and place of business. Said if I had children or pets to make sure that they were accounted for.
Strangely, my mother, who I had spoken with on phone and exchanged emails with the night before, also received a call from same number this morning.
As soon as I went online and searched the phone number it became immediately apparent to me that this was a scam. Don't fall for it and don't give them money or personal information!
