Really sucky scammers tried to get PayPal information when that did not work wanted bank information to transfer money. This is just a fishing expedition they reply to the newest adds on Craigslist. Or they hit up New people on eBay. They go for bigger items in hopes you will ship the item, or and I've scene this once woman was new on eBay she got the standard email from PayPal she issued this guy a $400 refund.
