caller claimed to be from the IRS and stated that I would be arrested today for tax address fraud (whatever that means) unless I paid them a settlement of $1900.
The problem with these scams is that they call repeatedly in the same day until you finally answer the phone and speak to them. It is the only way to get them to stop. I had it happen a month ago with a different phone number and a very aggressive guy.
The IRS website will advise you of these scams and clearly states that they do not contact taxpayers this way or use these tactics.
