Said he was calling about my computer, which I was in the middle of updating and had a few enquiries out there with software providers. I could not understand the name of his computer company, but when he asked me to go to my computer and tell me what I saw I hung up.

this caller is a scam. Feds and police have been alerted. Do not speak or even answer when they call, just answer (to stop ring) then hang up. This is what the FBI is telling people to do.
