Same scam from 509 588-7558for me today. IRS would never call and leave a terse message threatening a lawsuit, and certainly not from a 509 area code in Benton Washington! Those guys are idiots. Still, the IRS has made a name for itself by having a reputation of intimidation and bullying so I am sure people do get concerned. Just know the IRS would never contact anyone this way. First a letter.....unless you are already on the run from them and then all bets are off.

Robo said that they were the IRS and that the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me. Doesn't sound right because I'll all paid up. They said to call the same number back which I immediately tried and got a message that the line was busy and to try again later.

Got a robo call from this number 509-588-7558 today and it said I needed to call immediately because the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me. Called the number and they answered as the Internal Revenue Services at which point asked them to identify themselves further as I don't trust robo dialers. The woman said they don't need to identify themselves and that I'm the one with the problem. She then said go ahead and get arrested criminal and hung up on me. Guessing that if the IRS actually wanted to talk to me they would have. From that, I'd guess that this was not actually the IRS but I'll have my tax accountant check for me.

Received an automated call saying to call immediately that the IRS is filing lawsuit against me. I called the number and a middle eastern sounding guy told me all the vile things he wanted to do to me sexually when I confronted him on him being a scammer.
