Washington Post reported this back in April 2014! This is the exact same guy that called me, with the same accusations and the same phone # today....

This guy called today claiming there was fraudulent tax for 3 years, that I had been audited by 5 auditors and that there would be a lien on my home, my bank accounts would be emptied and my wages garnished. And that my SSN was "blacklisted." He proceeded to try to get me to "stop the warrant" for my arrest today by paying $4,906 within one hour through an electronic cash payment. He told me I had to stay on the phone with him the entire time en route to get the cash, do the electronic payment, etc. And that I could not involve a third party or even hang up the cell phone or mute him! Unbelievable! I am reporting him to our local IRS office.

I had a message on my voicemail that said that there was an arrest warrant in my name being issued. They called on 12/8 and the number they left was 567-253-0104 but the caller ID on my phone was 800-829-1040

I received the exact same harassment scam voicemail you are all mentioning. 567-253-0104 number is the one they state you must contact back however initial call comes from 800-829-1040.

He said that he has received legal petition notice against my name,regarding tax fraud. That I need to contact 1 (567) 253-0104 this number because a Non available arrest warrant.
When he first started talking he sounded like he had an accent but then later on he had a southern accent.....................

We received a call tonight just as those described above. We were not addressed by name in the message. This is clearly some sort of scam. I hope an arrest warrant gets issued for whoever is behind these messages!
