Same situation as Lou. Got a text. Knew it was a scam before I called the number but they also sent text to my daughter's number. She called and first question was for SS#. She hung up. We believe it is part of the information that was stolen from Target over the holidays as we have both been getting strange text in the last few weeks and both our debit cards had unauthorized purchase attempts in the last month. She is an adult and we have no common information or linked accounts but we both signed up for the Target RedCard the day after Thanksgiving. HACKED! and pissed
