they called yesterday and I left answer machine take it. they left no message. then they called today and I answered. and some Indian guy came on after I said hello 6 times. and he stated that there was a virus on our computer. I said we did not have a computer. then he said it was on our laptop. he was hard to understand and I asked him to repeat what he said. then he said laptop and hung up on me.

We get calls from this number several times a week. Shows up as "Name not found" on Caller ID. So I don't bother answering when I see the display. When my answ. machine kicks on, someone always say "Hello Hello Hello" several times. If I don't recognize the name, I don't bother answering my phone anymore. Let the scammers waste their time, and not mine.

This number called me again today. I had already searched the number and knew about the scam. They waited several seconds before responding to my "hello?". When the Indian guy started in about my PC, "infections", etc. I told him I already knew about this scam & he should get a real job, not one that steals money from unsuspecting people. His voice changed immediately and screamed at me "YOU SHUT UP, SHUT UP RIGHT NOW, YOU #(&*%^*"

Same drill as previous posts. I have been having some issues with ATT. Somehow they connected all this. Finally recognized it as a scam and hung up.

called and said that my computer had downloaded some virus with error problems. I told them that I did not have a computer and she said does someone else have your computer and I again told her that I didn't have a computer and then she said is this Shelby, I said yes, that's my husbands name and she said you don't have a computer I said no! she then said HUH well okay thank you. I hung up. I have been having other calls like this and I tell them the same thing. I DON'T HAVE A COMPUTER! OF COURSE I REALLY DO HAVE ONE BUT TO MESS WITH THEM I SAY NO1

They wanted to inform me that my computer had error files and problems that they wanted to show me. I wasted their time. I acted dumb and kept them on the phone for 18 minutes. They walked me through to Event Viewer and showed me the bogus errors on my computer. Then they wanted me to go a remote administration website where they would then take over my computer. I stumbled with getting to the website on purpose. I was about to come up with another excuse to delay them more but they got tired of me wasting their time so they hung up on me. That is the only way to fight these people is to waste their time. Nothing else you do works. If you tell them off in the first 30 seconds they move on to the next person. They will try and find some dumb soul or elderly person to take advantage of.

Took about 5 seconds and then a woman with an Indian accent answered claiming to be from the "technical support helpline( or something to that effect)" told her I wasn't interested, and hung up.

They are the 'worldwide tech support specialists" wanted to speak with the spouse concerning problems with the computer. what key is next to your control key? looking for a version?? Hmm, let me just volunteer whatever you need. Problem is, there are people in this country that fall for this crap!
